Yosemite

On Monday we made the trek over to Yosemite.

Talk about beauty!

Our picnic lunch spot was next to a cool river.

And happened to have a stunning view of El Capitan.

Friendly ducks too.
Much better than the Canadian Geese we encountered at Lake Tahoe last weekend.

This fella wasn't crazy about 8+ hours in the car.

Half Dome

Love these two.

29 Years

It feels like we've been in birthday mode for about a month now.
Lynden turned one in March, Ryder turns three this week, and I had a birthday over the weekend.

It's times like this that I can't help but think of and be thankful for
God's goodness to us and the hope the future holds.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases,
His mercies never comes to an end,
They are new every morning,
Great is your faithfulness.

Braden spoiled me with a trip to Sacramento, and these cheery sunflowers in a new (to me)
watering can that I'd been eyeing at the antique store.

These are three of my biggest blessings -
looking forward to a fourth joining us in the coming year!

Biking Sacramento

We spent an amazing weekend in Sacramento with our bikes.
It's something I've been wanting to do for a while and finally we found a time when we thought the weather might hold up.

For those of you waiting for a baby belly picture, here it is!

 These boys were great sports.

They loved biking along the river, over beautiful bridges, seeing trains, and
this beautiful old roundhouse in Old Town Sacramento.

We made our way downtown and toured the capital grounds.

Found some pretty incredible food at The Rind.

Our afternoon included old neighbourhoods where be admired beautiful Tudor and Craftsman houses.
I couldn't help but be thankful that I have a partner who enjoys so many things I do. :)

McKinley Park had beautiful rose gardens

and a great playground for the boys to expend a little energy.

Ryder even bravely tried a few new toys.

This little guy has no desire to walk yet,
but he sure makes up for it in personality.

Discovery Park inspired tree climbing and races.
Ryder loves to run and jump - Oma would be proud. <3

Our last day greeted us with rain.
Honestly, I think we were a little saddle sore and ready for a break anyway.

So, off to one last Farm to Table restaurant for breakfast

We rounded out our trip with a little (or a lot, depending on who you ask) shopping.

I'd call it one of my best birthday gifts ever.
Thanks love!

Snow Play

Wohoo!
We're loving all of the snow at our Tahoe cabin!

This was after quite a bit of melting.

Our cabin has been cozy and warm -
the perfect spot for our long weekend retreat.

Ryder has been thriving outside in the fresh air.
The back of our property opened up into the perfect sledding hill.

Braden even made a few runs down on his snowboard, landing the jump and everything.

Then we went on with the usual.
Vanesa helped us colour our Bible story photos in preparation
for teaching Sunday School this morning.

This is something I love to see.
The guys' Bibles sitting on the table together.

Love my man and his heart for the Lord.

More time with Mrs Davis before she leaves us for the Pacific Northwest.
I'm jealous!

And this little character just wants to be like Daddy.
Snowboard boots and all.

Goodnight from Lake Tahoe!

Oh There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays!

We went on our second annual Lake Tahoe Christmas Tree Hunt!
Local friends, this is a tradition we love and tree permits are available at the USDA Forest Service Office for $10.

This year we had Pop & Mimi with us - plus a LOT of snow!

We picked up a sled and gloves for Ryder in South Lake Tahoe.
They ended up being essential to our happy tree hunt.

Plus, after the tree was loaded up, we had a fun time taking a few runs in the sled.

We love Lake Tahoe!

And our winter wonderland outing was followed by a fun sweater party with friends -
who also helped us decorate our new tree.

Here we are - ugly sweaters and all.

And every toddler needs a friend like Mrs Davis!

It's good to be home for the holidays -
And, It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!
