Day #1

My next few posts will just chronicle the
first few days and weeks of life as a family of
5

What a thought!
Here's Quincy's first photo with Daddy & Mama.

Nothing looks nearly as uncomfortable as those couches the
Daddy's have to sleep on at the hospital.

Having a buddy makes it a little better.

Quincy weighed in at 7lbs 10oz.
Exactly 1lb less than Lynden and 2lbs less than Ryder.
That'll make it easy for me to remember!

Big brothers were excited to bring their baby brother home on Monday morning.

But in all reality, this is a little more what life looks like...
Haha!

So grateful to have this little sweetie as a part of our family.

Busy Summer Months

It seems that we've been on the go non-stop since the end of May.

From our road trip, to Braden's busy work schedule - here and away - to family visiting, we've been having a great, albeit busy summer.

Lake Tahoe with the family.

At the end of June we celebrated a few birthdays and our 4th anniversary.

Lynden's showing a real love for homemade cheesecake.

We even made it out for a rare date night, thanks to Pop & Mimi being in town.

A trip to Dorinda's Chocolates in Reno meant our first experience watching handmade
Thai rolled ice cream - not to mention tasting it!

Plus water and park play with a very special Auntie.

And maybe just one of these days
(hopefully in the next 5 weeks before Baby III joins the family)
our little Lynden will decide to walk - but not yet!

Three Ohhh!

Normally I keep my posts focused on what I'm up to and life with our boys.
But, today we celebrate my guy's birthday and I can't help but brag a little...

So thankful to God for blessing me with this dear husband.

From the day he popped the question...

...to the day we said I do...

...and beyond, he has been my very best friend.

Our boys have a patient and godly example.

And they can be thankful,
because he's a lot more spontaneous and fun than I am!

 From the very beginning,
I feel I must be the luckiest girl alive to be partners with this guy for life.

We're only almost 4 years in, but already I can't wait to spend the next 30 with him.
Happy Birthday my love.

The Never Ending Project

About 6 months ago I started thinking about what to do for Lynden's first birthday.
I wanted it to be special and one of a kind.

Many hours on Pinterest later I settled on making him a quiet book.

I found tons of ideas and templates,
I found a local small business to buy my supplies from,
and then I got started.

And now, over 100 hours later (and nearly two months after Lynden's birthday) I'm still at work.

My first two pages took the longest.
Everything is sewn by hand.

This barn houses 5 different finger puppet farm animals.

The accompanying page gives a space for them to play and have a story told.

Next was the rainbow.

The colours can be unsnapped and reattached and the cloud is a pocket to hold
everything when not in use.

My most recent page has these shoes.
Everything needs to be sewn down still, then
I need to run out and grab a pair of laces for them.

And now that I've put all this work into it (with only 4 pages to show), I've come to the conclusion that it's really more Ryder's level than Lynden's.

Ah well, I guess that will buy me a little more time to finish a few more pages.
This truly is a labour of love.

I'm not sure why all of my projects seem to have this unending quality - but already I'm thinking ahead to the next one:
a new quilt for Lynden once he's promoted out of the crib.

I'm thinking the next 3 months are going to keep me pretty busy!
