A Trip to Tillamook

We're home, and what a great trip it was!

In the next few posts, I'll do my best to recount some of the highlights of our road trip from Nevada to Washington, and then on to BC - 2,200 miles later.

After leaving at 3:30am on Saturday, we arrived in Tillamook, OR by dinner time. As we were driving through the outskirts of town, we noticed a huge blimp hangar, now an air museum. Unfortunately, we were too late to take a tour. A little research later, we learned that two hangars were built in Tillamook during WWII to house blimps used for anti-submarine patrol and to escort convoys. On our next visit, we'll definitely make a point of stopping by there as well.

And then the real reason for our little scenic detour was a trip to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

And of course, we couldn't leave without sampling cheese, fudge, and ice cream. Mmmm...
