We checked off another fun Fall activity with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch today! I woke up a little worried because the wind was howling and our wind chimes making crazy music, but the sun was out and we had a blast in spite of the blustery day. At
the farm, we met up with some other preschool friends from our MOPS group.
Ryder bravely took a barrel cow ride (we were especially excited, because this particular cow was named after a dear little neighbourhood friend from back home in WA) and though he cried for a few seconds, the din of the tractor and excitement of the other children were soon enough to both drown out and ease his anxiety.

This one's for you, Owen! |
After his cow ride, we climbed onto the back of a hay wagon for a trip out to the pumpkin fields. Once there, Ryder enjoyed sitting on pumpkins and picking up a few baby ones, squealing with delight at the quantity and colour of such fun new toys. I played the photographer, trying to catch his excitement - and maybe I got a little carried away - 90 photos later...
We ended our day together by listening to a Bernstein Bears story about a big pumpkin contest (a story that I was read many times growing up) and yummy apple cider and snacks. Another fun filled day in this state I'm learning to love!
