A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We checked off another fun Fall activity with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch today!  I woke up a little worried because the wind was howling and our wind chimes making crazy music, but the sun was out and we had a blast in spite of the blustery day. At the farm, we met up with some other preschool friends from our MOPS group.
Ryder bravely took a barrel cow ride (we were especially excited, because this particular cow was named after a dear little neighbourhood friend from back home in WA) and though he cried for a few seconds, the din of the tractor and excitement of the other children were soon enough to both drown out and ease his anxiety.
This one's for you, Owen!
After his cow ride, we climbed onto the back of a hay wagon for a trip out to the pumpkin fields.  Once there, Ryder enjoyed sitting on pumpkins and picking up a few baby ones, squealing with delight at the quantity and colour of such fun new toys. I played the photographer, trying to catch his excitement - and maybe I got a little carried away - 90 photos later...
We ended our day together by listening to a Bernstein Bears story about a big pumpkin contest (a story that I was read many times growing up) and yummy apple cider and snacks. Another fun filled day in this state I'm learning to love!
